Before you can purchase a Sully’s Arms suppressor, you will need to be approved and registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). In order to complete this process, you will need to complete the required paperwork and pay the $200.00 Tax Stamp fee via check or credit card with your local dealer for each suppressor purchased.

With the assistance of your local dealer you will complete the following:

  1. Fill out ATF Form 4 (5320.4) in triplicate. You will need three individual passport photos in regulation 2"x 2” sizing to complete this document. The first and second copies of this form will be sent to ATF and the third copy will be sent to the local law enforcement agency in the city or county in which you reside.
  2. Along with this form, you will also need to complete ATF Form 5330.20, confirming you are a citizen of the United States of America, and a standard fingerprint card FD-258 in duplicate.

Upon review of Form 4, ATF will notify your local dealer of acceptance of the tax stamp. At this time, the dealer will then be authorized to transfer the suppressor to you and a standard ATF Form 4473 will be completed.

Please note that ATF’s process to complete these forms varies per person and complexity of background search. Should you have questions regarding the status of your original application, you may contact the National Firearms Act (NFA) Branch and ask them if there is a status update.  You will need to have the serial number(s) of the NFA regulated items that you want to check the status of.  Please be sure to have this information as you will be unable to check the status without it.
